Prior to founding Crescent Sterling, he was with JMC Capital Management, Inc. for eight years, serving as the Director of Research and as a portfolio manager. His financial and accounting experience also include his position on the Tax Staff of Arthur Andersen & Co., and his economic background includes his position as Staff Manager for South Central Bell where he was responsible for economic and system demand forecasts.
Howard received a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration with areas of concentration in Accounting and Economics from the University of New Orleans.
He has attained the CFA Institute's Chartered Financial Analyst designation; Howard is also a Certified Public Accountant (inactive), Certified Financial Planner and Certified Management Accountant.
Howard is a member of the CFA Institute, a member and past President of the CFA Society of Louisiana, past chairman and member of the Investment Committee of the United Way of Greater New Orleans, a member of the National Association of Business Economists and the organization's Financial Roundtable, a member and past President of the New Orleans Regional Council of Business Economics, and a member of the Louisiana Society of CPA's and the New Orleans Society of CPA's.
Prior to joining Crescent Sterling, Ltd., Mike was with TD Ameritrade for three years where he served as Branch Manager of their New Orleans office. In addition, he was with Charles Schwab for over 15 years serving as Regional Manager and Branch Manager. He has served as an industry arbitrator for FINRA for 16 years.
Mike obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Nicholls State University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of New Orleans. He is also a Certified Financial Planner.
Jan T. Milan
Client Services Manager
Jan is responsible for all client administrative information and records. Prior to her joining Crescent Sterling in 1992, she held investment related administrative positions with both The Equitable Financial Companies and Howard, Weil, Labouisse, Friedrichs, Inc. Jan was born in San Antonio, Texas, but is considered a New Orleans "native." She attended the University of New Orleans.
Mitchell R. Bordelon
Director of Business Development &
Investment Accounting Administrator
Prior to joining the Crescent Sterling, Ltd. team, Mitchell worked as a Financial Advisor for Whitney National Bank for four years, where his primary focus was providing his customers with investment advice over multiple asset classes. Mitchell has attained the CFA Institute's Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a Certified Financial Planner. In addition, to being a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Louisiana, he is also a board member of the CFA Society of Louisiana.
Mitchell is a native New Orleanian, growing up in the River Ridge area and graduating from Holy Cross School. He attended The University of Southern Mississippi and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. He has been an active volunteer with The Louisiana Youth Seminar since 2005.
Karen's responsibilities include investment accounting, client records and assisting with client services. Karen graduated from Lakeland Community College with an Accounting degree. Her work experience includes over 20 years in accounting/administrative positions. Karen was born in Ashtabula, Ohio and moved to the New Orleans area and joined Crescent Sterling, Ltd. in 2004.
